BRIDGEPORT, CT -- The Bridgeport Prospers Collective Impact Movement, with backbone support provided by the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison Logan to Executive Director. Logan served as the Early Childhood Program Manager for Bridgeport Prospers from June of 2016 until March of 2017, at which time she took on the role of Acting Executive Director.

ROCKY HILL, CT -- The Governor's veto of Public Act 17-170, An Act Concerning the Affordable Housing Land Use Appeals Procedure, seeks to ensure that there is continued growth in the stock of affordable housing across Connecticut. Connecticut United Ways support increasing the supply of affordable housing. As part of our work to support ALICE Families, United Way produced an issue brief in 2015 on the challenges many families face in Connecticut paying for housing.

HARTFORD, CT -- donation from a New Haven-based foundation has propped up a local nonprofit dedicated to fighting homelessness. The Melville Charitable Trust has pledged $86,000 to Journey Home, which saw that same amount of city funding slashed from Mayor Luke Bronin's budget for the fiscal year.
