Trust for Learning Announces RFP to Advance Ideal Learning in the Public Sector

Thursday, June 21, 2018

Trust for Learning (the Trust) is pleased to announce a request for proposals (RFP) for projects that will build on its work of expanding highly developmental early childhood education, or Ideal Learning. The goal of the RFP is to support providers of Ideal Learning as they collaborate with one another to expand access to these approaches in the public sector by:

  • Developing or implementing research tools and solutions that will enhance public sector accountability of Ideal Learning programs;
  • Influencing systems change within states and/or districts that will enable participation of Ideal Learning providers in publicly funded early childhood programs; and/or
  • Implementing effective practices aligned with the Principles of Ideal Learning Programs in a publicly funded district or community.

The Trust champions quality within the early childhood field, working to support exemplary models of early learning that focus on whole-child development. These approaches represent the educational programs that parents overwhelmingly want for their children—highly personalized, content-rich, emotionally and intellectually engaging environments that nurture each child’s unique development. Yet according to a recent landscape analysis commissioned by the Trust, less than 3% of children birth to age 5 are enrolled in Ideal Learning programs, and these programs are overwhelmingly private.

The Trust is therefore seeking proposals that will grow the footprint of Ideal Learning in the public sector to ensure that more children, particularly those in underserved communities, have access to the high-quality education they deserve. The Trust will consider collaborative efforts among two or more Ideal Learning approaches or providers to increase access to these programs. Interested applicants can read the full RFP here, which includes the link to the application form.

The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2018.
