Call for Board Nominations

Publication date:
October, 2017

For more than 40 years Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (CCP) has been advocating for and supporting the collective well-being of members. In turn, CCP's success and effectiveness relies on expert governance and leadership.

Help us identify possible board candidates from among members of CCP or colleagues in philanthropy.

Expertise

  • Accounting/Auditing/Financial
  • Communications/Marketing
  • Non-profit Legal
  • Philanthropic Services
  • Public Policy & Advocacy
  • Regional Associations
  • Resource Development
  • Strategy & Governance
  • Technology/Research

Diversity

We are also looking for additional diversity that represents people of color, various educational and cultural backgrounds and geographic areas within the state, in particular Fairfield County.

Requirements

Members of the board may come from any seat of leadership within a member or colleague organization, but they must be in a position of authority and influence over grants and allocations that would enable them to make commitments to the Council on behalf of their organization. Additionally, they most importantly must have the management skills, experience and strategic acumen to serve in the capacity of a board member of CCP and be committed to our mission and the work of the board.

How to Submit

Submit nominations to Karla Fortunato, president: kfortunato@CTphilanthropy.org

Include the nominee’s name and all contact information, as well as, a short bio, the reason you are nominating them for service and what you feel they would bring to the board or a committee of CCP. Please be sure to request permission from the nominee before submitting their name for consideration.

While we value every member recommendation and every candidate will be given careful and thoughtful consideration, it goes without saying that not all recommended candidates can be offered a board seat. Our obligation to CCP is to find the optimum balance of talent, diversity and passion for this work. The size and composition of the board is both strategic and intentional.
