WASHINGTON, DC -- The Momentum Fund announced today that it has awarded $8.5 million in grants to 129 501(c)(3) organizations around the country managing COVID-19 relief funds that provide grants and other forms of direct support to community-run organizations working with communities of color, historically marginalized populations, and other groups being disproportionately impacted by the pandemic that continues to ravage these communities.
DANBURY, CT -- United Way of Western Connecticut and the Danbury Fair Mall collected 4,000 pounds of nonperishable food at a food drive conducted on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Mall’s parking lot. In addition, the event, which served as this year’s United Way Day of Action, also raised $2,400 in donations. Both the food and the monetary donations will be distributed among nine food pantries in the greater Danbury area that are members of the Danbury Food Collaborative.
