DANBURY, CT -- A very generous $34,500 grant from the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) enabled the CityCenter Danbury Farmers’ Market to continue through the entire season, to offer fresh local produce to people who might otherwise not have access to healthy options.

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is making sure that more underserved children have the opportunity to attend educational and culturally enriching live theatrical performances by increasing its support of The Ridgefield Playhouse’s “Arts for Everyone” Program for its 2017-2018 season. The Foundation recently presented The Playhouse with a $15,000 grant from The Barbara Benton Davis Fund to benefit ticket-outreach programs at The Playhouse.
GREENWICH, CT -- Earlier this month, over eighty women with a newly discovered passion for public service attended the inaugural one-day training created by the Women's Campaign School at Yale, a non-partisan, issue neutral political campaign training program for women interested in running for office and in campaign management. NORWALK, CT -- Singer/songwriter John Mayer has established the Richard Mayer Scholarship Fund at Fairfield County's Community Foundation in honor of his father, Richard, who turned 90 last week. The four-year scholarship will provide funds to a student pursuing the field of education.
GREENWICH, CT -- This week the Fairfield County native and singer-songwriter told his father, Richard Mayer, that his more than four decades as a Bridgeport educator would not soon be forgotten. To celebrate his father’s 90th birthday, which was a few days before John Mayer turns 40 on Monday, the songwriter set up a college scholarship fund through Fairfield County’s Community Foundation to commemorate his dad’s legacy.
REDDING, CT -- In response to Connecticut's budget crisis, which has severely impacted students' access and exposure to music education and the arts, Connecticut-based nonprofits SpreadMusicNow and Band Together CT have announced a benefit concert in support of music education on November 4th. All funds raised will be matched by local philanthropists in conjunction with Fairfield County's Community Foundation.
