HARTFORD, CT -- About 13,000 residents of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who arrived in Connecticut in the aftermath of the hurricanes Maria and Irma continue to struggle with obtaining basic needs including adequate housing, food, medical care and jobs, according to a survey commissioned by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
HARTFORD, CT -- The University of Connecticut’s El Instituto: Institute for Latina/o Caribbean and Latin American Studies and the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College have launched a survey to better understand the long-term impact of displacement on the Greater Hartford region. The survey is supported by a $47,280 grant from the Hartford Foundation.
NORWICH, CT -- Two anonymous donor advised funds at the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut (CFECT) have awarded a combined $31,000 to support CCEH’s emergency assistance response in Willimantic, New London, and Norwich.
