Comcast and YMCA of Greater Hartford Celebrates East Hartford Y-Bell Graduation
EAST HARTFORD, CT -- The YMCA of Greater Hartford was recently joined by representatives of Comcast and YMCA program families to honor over 100 East Hartford students for their successful completion of the Y-BELL Power Scholars Academy. For the third consecutive year Comcast provided a cash and in-kind grant totaling $18,000 to support Power Scholars Academy and YMCA Celebrates Champions programs and events. Comcast’s in-kind support included a lap-top computer, which was presented at the ceremony to one student who had perfect attendance.

Center for Latino Progress Receives Comcast Foundation Grant
HARTFORD CT – AUGUST 21, 2017 - The Comcast Foundation announced today that it has awarded a $20,000 grant to the Center for Latino Progress’ FUTUROS program. FUTUROS targets Hartford’s Latino youth who face obstacles that might otherwise prevent them from being able to achieve their life goals and offers training, activities, and youth employment opportunities to help them prepare for college and technical careers.
Avangrid donates $268,000 through Connecticut’s Neighborhood Assistance Act
NEW HAVEN, CT — Avangrid, INC. and its Connecticut subsidiaries, The United Illuminating Company, The Southern Connecticut Gas Company and Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation, announced today they distributed $268,000 to 39 nonprofit organizations, through the State of Connecticut’s Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA).
