NORWALK, CT -- A generous grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) will provide Norwalk Community College (NCC) students disparately impacted by COVID-19 with emergency financial assistance for technology, food and basic needs. HARTFORD, CT -- In April, the City of Hartford, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, HEDCO, Inc., and Capital For Change launched a $1 million Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. The aim is to provide at least 100 small Hartford businesses with a grant of up to $10,000 to make lease or mortgage payments, pay salaries, make vendor payments, pay taxes, or make modifications to their physical space or technology to comply with social distancing guidelines. In an effort to support additional Hartford small businesses, Bank of America and Travelers have each made grants of $125,000 and the City of Hartford has allocated an additional $125,000 to the initiative.

The Great Give® is Greater New Haven’s 36-hour online giving event, created by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and conducted annually since 2010 to increase philanthropy in the Greater New Haven region of South Central Connecticut. Not only was the amount raised nearly double that of the prior year, but the number of total donors was up by 43 percent - a sign of the commitment and generosity of the region to rally for its continued well-being.
