NEW HAVEN, CT -- Surpassing expectations, The Great Give® 2020 was a spectacular success in bringing Greater New Haven’s community together in difficult times to raise $3.57 million online for nearly 400 nonprofits. The Great Give® is Greater New Haven’s 36-hour online giving event, created by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and conducted annually since 2010 to increase philanthropy in the Greater New Haven region of South Central Connecticut.

WOONSOCKET, RI -- CVS Health is expanding access to its nationwide mental health programming initiative with investments aimed at healthcare workers and essential employees to help address the growing need for emotional support services in the US amid the pandemic. The expansion plan includes a $800,000 from the Aetna Foundation.
NEW HAVEN, CT -- Approximately $2.6 million has been raised for nonprofits helping vulnerable communities amid the coronavirus pandemic, half of which already has been awarded. The Greater New Haven COVID-19 Community Fund recently distributed a second round of grants totaling $677,000 to 36 organizations after giving out almost $700,000 in the first ground. The fund launched in late March as a partnership between the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and United Way of Greater New Haven to raise money and get resources quickly to area nonprofits helping vulnerable communities affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

NEW HAVEN — The Connecticut Health Foundation has awarded $585,000 in grants to organizations across the state to help residents in need of financial support and health care during the coronavirus pandemic. The effort includes a $150,000 donation to the Connecticut United Ways COVID-19 Response Fund, “which provides direct financial assistance to individuals who are struggling because of the pandemic,” and $165,000 to the Cheshire-based Community Health Center Association of Connecticut to help health centers expand “their capacity to deliver telehealth services and to meet immediate needs of patients.”

HARTFORD, CT -- Governor Ned Lamont today announced the statewide expansion of a program that will make free online learning licenses available to recipients of unemployment insurance, including those who have been impacted by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 public health crisis. The SkillUp CT program will significantly expand access to comprehensive online course work from a leading global provider for thousands of Connecticut residents. NORWALK, CT -- The Child & Family Guidance Center, (CFGC), has actively put in place swift and dramatic measures to ensure the safety of their workforce and community while continuing essential services to the neediest families. Key to making this possible has been a generous $25,000 grant from The Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, and a $10,000 grant from Near & Far Aid to provide telehealth services, deep cleaning and hygiene services as well as general support for the continuation of services during the COVID-19 crisis.
HARTFORD, CT -- United Way has made 12 awards in its first round of grants from its COVID-19 response fund, Neighbors in Need. The grants, totaling $127,000 will support local nonprofits in delivering important services to those most impacted by the pandemic. The awards will ensure that local families receive assistance related to rent; utilities; food; and, tele-health.
HARTFORD, CT -- The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has announced a round of grants totaling $716,334 to several nonprofits around the state, including many that are in or serve the north-central region. The grants constitute the fourth round of funding as part of the charitable organization’s COVID-19 Response Fund, which was launched in March, bringing the total amount donated through the fund to about $4 million.
