HARTFORD, CT -- Connecticut is among the half of states in the nation spending no money on the census, instead relying on philanthropy and networks of volunteer committees to bolster U.S. Census workers, who will try to find and count the millions of Americans who do not respond next spring. DERBY, CT -- The Valley Community Foundation is pleased to share results of The Great Give® 2020 with its Valley community and to highlight the winners of VCF-sponsored Great Give prizes. Of the more than $3.5 million raised for nearly 400 nonprofits, $488,000 was raised with the help of Valley residents, employees, and VCF donor advised fund holders for nonprofit organizations located in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.
