Travelers Announces 2019 Community Giving of More Than $24 Million
HARTFORD, CT -- The Travelers Companies, Inc. today released its annual Community Report, announcing that the company provided more than $24 million in charitable donations in 2019. Travelers distributed these funds to programs and organizations dedicated to improving academic and career success, developing thriving neighborhoods and creating culturally enriched communities. These contributions bring the company’s giving total to more than $223 million over the past decade.
Wadsworth Atheneum gets $50000 grant to restore statue of Connecticut hero Nathan Hale
HARTFORD, CT -- Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art of Hartford has received a $50,000 grant from the Avandrid Foundation to restore and upgrade the bronze statue of Nathan Hale that has stood outside the 600 Main St. museum since 1894.
Bank of America, Travelers and City of Hartford Contributions Will Enhance Hartford Small Business Emergency Grant Program
HARTFORD, CT -- In April, the City of Hartford, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, HEDCO, Inc., and Capital For Change launched a $1 million Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. The aim is to provide at least 100 small Hartford businesses with a grant of up to $10,000 to make lease or mortgage payments, pay salaries, make vendor payments, pay taxes, or make modifications to their physical space or technology to comply with social distancing guidelines. In an effort to support additional Hartford small businesses, Bank of America and Travelers have each made grants of $125,000 and the City of Hartford has allocated an additional $125,000 to the initiative.
