WELLESLEY, MA -- Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation has announced its 2019 Healthy Food Fund Grant Guidelines and RFP. The Foundation is looking to support 25 local nonprofit organizations located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire that are primarily volunteer-powered to grow, glean or distribute fresh, free produce to low-income families and older adults. Grant awards will be up to $25,000 per year and are eligible for renewal for up to three years. A total of $625,000 will be awarded throughout the region in 2019.

WATERBURY, CT -- A $30,000 grant from Connecticut Community Foundation to the Connecticut affiliate of FoodCorps, a national organization that connects kids to healthy foods, will give schoolchildren in four Waterbury and Naugatuck schools hands-on lessons in healthy eating in order to promote their preferences for fruits and vegetables—and improve overall nutrition and wellness. The award is among 51 new grants totaling $366,600 made by the Foundation in their April grant round to nonprofit organizations serving communities in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills.

HARTFORD, CT -- Thanks to Goya Foods, Inc. and its Goya Gives campaign, displaced families served by Hartford's the Centro de Ayuda Para Nuestros Amigos Caribeños (Relief Center for our Caribbean Friends) had a reason to celebrate the new year. Locals Lead the State During Thankgsiving Fundraiser
SOUTHINGTON, CT -- The Rotary Club of Southington, along with the Lions Club, UNICO, the United Way of Southington, and Smokin’ with Chris, partnered with the local Liberty Bank branch to raise $70,225 in the Liberty Bank/ Rotary Club Thanksgiving Drive. Now in its 14th year, the Drive raised record-breaking levels across the state, totaling $356,372. The Liberty Bank Foundation matches each dollar raised with an additional 25 cents.
