CHEFA Awards $150,000 Grant to CT Early Childhood Funder Collaborative for Public-Private Partnership with the Office of Early Childhood
HARTFORD, CT – The Connecticut Early Childhood Funder Collaborative, a collaborative of 21 funders from across the state, has received a $150,000 grant from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA).
The Partnership Loan Program for Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses in New Haven and the Lower Naugatuck Valley
NEW HAVEN, CT -- A new public-private partnership is offering low-interest and partially forgivable loans to local minority-owned and women-owned small businesses. The initial loan pool of $1.5 million will offer loans of up to $25,000 for small businesses located in New Haven and the lower Naugatuck Valley cities of Derby and Ansonia. The Partnership Loan Program for Minority- and Women-Owned Businesses in New Haven and the Lower Naugatuck Valley was created through a partnership among The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, HEDCO, Inc., the Amour Propre Fund and The City of New Haven.

State Looks to Local Expertise, Nonprofits, Philanthropy to Advance Economic Recovery
HARTFORD, CT -- The state has now also announced plans to develop a statewide effort rooted in the state’s 169 communities. The newest initiative, to include municipal officials, community-based organizations, nonprofit providers, and philanthropic partners – establishes local long-term recovery committees that will help meet urgent needs, accelerate recovery, and expedite coordination with the state’s emergency management structure, according to state officials. CCP President Karla Fortunato is among the organizational leaders across the state involved organizing the initiative.
